Ashely Young has apologized to Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard after getting sacked.
What went wrong for Steven Gerrard at Aston Villa?
Ashley Young made a return to Villa park from Inter Milan in 2021-2022. Young on his Instagram after Gerrard’s exit from the club said,
“Thanks and sorry. Wishing you all the best and have no doubt you’ll be back in the dugout soon.”
Villa managed to win just three games under Steven Gerrard. Despite some decent performances from Young, it was not enough to keep Gerrard at the club.
Steven Gerrard will look to be back in the dugout after having a bad season with Aston Villa. Many reports have claimed that Villa are looking to sign Mauricio Pochettino as their next manager.
In addition, Villa players managed to score just 11 goals in twelve matches in the Premier League. A stat that no manager wants. Aston Villa are currently 15th in the table. Just three points above the relegation side.
Steven Gerrard was not the right man after Dean Smith. There is a lot of difference between managing a Championship side and a Premier League side. Gerrard did not have enough experience.
Another name that is linked to the Villa job is Unai Emery.
