Arteta calls up Arsenal own Busquets to team training before Burnley clash

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta called up Miguel Azeez to first-team training yesterday ahead of his side’s Premier League clash against Burnley.

The Gunners returned to winning ways against Sevilla in the Champions League earlier this week. They will want to do the same when Vincent Kompany’s men come to the Emirates Stadium this afternoon.

Arsenal were dealt a blow this week after it was reveal that Thomas Partey had undergone a minor procedure to correct his thigh injury.

The Athletic revealed that the Ghana international now set for an ‘extended period on the sidelines’, potentially until January next year.

The Gunners can’t dive into the market now to find a replacement for Partey; Mikel Arteta will have to find a solution to the problem internally.

That may well be why the Arsenal boss call up Miguel Azeez to first-team training yesterday.

The 21-year-old returned to Arsenal after a frustrating loan spell at Wigan Athletic in the second half of last season. He stayed at the club in the summer as well, and he would love nothing more than to get an opportunity to show what he’s got.

Azeez was spotted at London Colney with the first-team squad yesterday, challenging for the ball with Eddie Nketiah (above) and Reiss Nelson (below).

The youngster also admitted a few years ago that he really looks up to Busquets and aims to become like him one day.

Azeez is a defensive midfielder by trade. He is fantastic on the ball, is incredibly compose and has the quality to score from distance.

The transition from youth football to the senior level has been incredibly challenging for Azeez so far. However, if Arteta has called him up to first-team training, he must see something in him that he likes.
