Arsenal waits for a verdict on ‘point deduction of Man City’

Manchester City

After Everton’s 10 points deducted so far last weekend, now the issue of Man City become the big breaking.

City was slammed with 115 allegations back in February of this year, which they have rejected. This came after a five-year probe that took place between 2009 and 2018.

Chelsea is also guilty with Man City

However, earlier this month, rumours surfaced that Roman Abramovich, the previous owner of Chelsea, had used offshore corporations to pay for operations during his tenure at the team.

There were actually rumours that, if they prove as guilty, Chelsea or City would lose more points than Everton did. Also some have even suggested relegation.

However, The Athletic’s David Ornstein has marked out that City’s penalties are different from the Merseysiders.

While David said on Sky Bet:

“We must talk about the fact that the cases involving Manchester City and Chelsea are not the same as Everton’s.”

“Everyone is saying that Manchester City must be relegated if found guilty, but we don’t know because they are not charged with the same things.” When asked why it was dragging on, Ornstein added: “Playing devil’s advocate, Everton admitted their wrongdoing, it’s there in the report and so they complied to say let’s get this over and done with.”

“Manchester City deny any wrongdoing, strenuously and they claim to have irrefutable evidence. (Where?) Well, they are waiting for the Premier League to bring the case, we don’t know where is the independent panel.”

“It will be a fierce legal battle and there are suggestions that maybe it was easier to take on Everton and their lawyers than it will be with Manchester City. They already came through the UEFA process over Financial Fair Play. Because it was time-barred. But the Premier League don’t have a time bar.”

Manchester City currently sit third on the table after Arsenal beat Brentford 1-0, while last evening they draw against Liverpool.

So far last season they made comeback while behind of gunners with 5 points.
