According to reports, Premier League giants Arsenal have shown an interest in signing French defensive midfielder Boubacar Kamara on a free transfer in the summer transfer window.
Boubacar Kamara is set to leave Marseille at the end of the season as a free agent with his contract set to expire in the summer. The 22-year-old has been a key ingredient in Marseille’s team for some years now. But European giants have picked up on his talents his term. With his contract up in the summer, a host of clubs across Europe are lining up for his signature.
Kamara has made a total of 47 appearances across all competitions this term. In this time he has recorded one goal and one assist. (stats via Transfermarkt) Manchester United, Aston Villa, and Athletico Madrid are also scouting Boubacar Kamara.
Fichajes have reported that Mikel Arteta is keen to land the French defensive midfielder. Mikel Arteta is on the lookout for a partner for Thomas Partey in the middle of the park. But the Premier League giants will need to be quick in the pursuit of the French midfielder with other clubs also pushing for his signature.
Signing Boubacar Kamara could be the perfect move for Arsenal in the summer
Arsenal look set to miss out on Champions League football yet again this term. The budget for the summer may be reduced due to the same. Signing Boubacar Kamara on a free transfer would mean that the club would save a lot of money.
They could invest it elsewhere in the team. Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette are both leaving the club on free transfers in the summer. Arsenal needs to sign at least two new strikers in the summer. The club are scouting Gabriel Jesus, Tielemans, and young full-back Aaron Hickey ahead of the summer.
Not only will the club save on the transfer fee. But the club will be bringing in a player who could also feature at centre-half if needed. Kamara is also brilliant in possession and bringing the ball out of the defensive third. Mikel Arteta likes his team to dominate possession and always be in control of the game. Having someone like Boubacar Kamara at the base of midfield would certainly help with that.
