Arsenal legend Emmanuel Petit has said that he is not a big fan of Rob Holding. Hence, he is also hoping that William Saliba recovers quickly from injury.

Petit also wanted Ben White to play in the center-back position instead of injured Saliba. However, the season ending injury to Tomiyasu means that White will keep on playing as right-back.

ARSENAL MANAGED THEIR DEFENCE WELL WITHOUT SALIBA AND TOMIYASU

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta announced that William Saliba and Takheiro Tomiyasu were ruled out for the match against Crystal Palace. Hence, many fans got worried after the update. However, it looks like the Gunners defence played well. Hence, they managed to beat Palace 4-1. Therefore, the Gunners now are eight points clear on the top of the Premier League table.

However, Arsenal did not start the match. Hence, Crystal Palace also tried to take advantage. However, the saves of Ramsdale made them survive the first 15 minutes. Although, after the first 15 minutes, the Gunners dominated the match. Therefore, it looks like fringe player Rob Holding did well in the defence in his rare start. However, the Gunners legend Emmanuel Petit is not at all convinced with his ability.

EMMANUEL PETIT DOES NOT TRUST THE ABILITY OF ROB HOLDING

Arsenal legend Emmanuel Petit has said that he is not a big fan of Rob Holding. Hence, he hopes that Saliba returns quickly from his injury. He further said, “Rob Holding, I am not a big fan of him, to be honest,”. “I think he is too soft, as a defender. It’s such as shame also to see [Takheiro] Tomiyasu injured. I would have preferred to have played with Ben White as a central defender.”

This is not the first time Petit has criticized an Arsenal player . He has also criticized Jorginho. Petit said that he is not a big fan of the former Chelsea midfielder. However, he also said that Jorginho has done well for the Gunners after signing for them on the January deadline day transfer window. Hence, the Rob Holding criticism was always going to happen.

This is because the Arsenal defender has only played 6 minutes of Premier League action. He also got to start because of the injury issues. If the injury did not happen, Rob Holding has done nothing much this season to convince Mikel Arteta to give him a start.
