Arsenal goalkeepers have been the main topic of conversation at the Emirates recently, but there’s also been a lot of chat about the Gunners’ strikers.
Indeed, with likes to the likes of Ivan Toney and Victor Osimhen persisting, there’s been plenty of chat about Arsenal looking to sign a new number nine.
Of course, Arsenal’s current striker is Gabriel Jesus,
But after hitting just two league goals so far this season, the Brazilian’s ability is being questioned.
Speaking on TalkSPORT, Emmanuel Adebayor has been discussing Jesus’ recent performances,
And he says that the striker hasn’t looked the same since he came back from injury.

Adebayor shared his verdict on the £45m man.
“The problem with Arsenal is, even when I was there, I’d love to play football, to come in the middle and be part of the game
Because technically I’m not that bad. But now they have the same thing in Jesus. Jesus also like to come to the ball,
And I think to win the league they need a striker who can just be in front of the goal,
Who doesn’t care how many touches of the ball he has during the game, he just cares about finishing,” Adebayor said.
“Like Haaland, like Aguero, Aguero doesn’t touch the ball that much, but when he is on the ball he gets it in the zone where he can be very dangerous. So I think Arsenal definitely need a striker.
“Since Jesus came back he has not been the same, so they need a striker who doesn’t care apart coming out to be part of the game.”
Adebayor is right, Jesus hasn’t quite looked the same recently.
The Brazilian started the season brilliantly last term, racing to double digits in terms of Premier League goals, but this season, the goals have dried up.
Yes, he’s played well in terms of his all-round performances, but as any striker will tell you, goals are the currency of the day and always will be.
Jesus needs to be scoring more goals if he wants to keep his place in this Arsenal team,
Because more and more experts are suggesting that Arsenal need a new striker.
