Xavi Simmons could be on the verge of a Premier League move to Arsenal. After running his contract down with Paris, the 20-year-old opted to move to the PSV. He went there as a free agent at the beginning of this season. He has enjoyed a stellar debut campaign in the Dutch top-flight this season. Simmon went on to score 16 goals and notching up 8 assists in 32 Eredivisie appearances.

Arsenal linked with Xavi Simmons

According to the report by the Mirror, Mikel Arteta has asked Arsenal chief Edu to sign Simons. The Gunners are ‘confident’ that a deal can be done for him this summer to strengthen their engine room.

Simons – valued at around £26 million by Transfermarkt. He still has more than four years left in his current contract. So, PSV are in no rush what so ever to let their star man leave this summer. Arsenal will have to offer a lucrative proposal to persuade the Eredivisie giants to sell.

It has widely been suggested that Gunners are keen on reinforcing their engine room this summer. They have been linked with numerous options ahead of the summer window. Declan Rice and Caicedo have been mentioned as main targets but Simons is reportedly on their radar as well.

Several others could leave to boost the money at the Emirates include Albert Sambi Lokonga, Nuno Tavares and Cedric Soares while Folarin Balogun could recoup a fine fee after a brilliant year with Reims. Xhaka and Kieran Tierney look destined to depart, as well, while club-record signing Nicolas Pepe could command a small fee in Ligue 1.

Arsenal are reportedly weighing up a summer swoop for PSV Eindhoven midfielder Xavi Simons, as per the Mirror. The youngster is a versatile midfielder. He can play multiple positions across the middle of the park.
