“Wouldn’t be accepted here”- Steve Cooper hits out at Tottenham Hotspur forward

Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper has lashed out at Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison for showboating during the clash on the weekend.

Antonio Conte’s men crossed swords with the newly promoted Premier League side as Harry Kane’s brace handed them a victory. However, towards the end of the match, Richarlison began taunting the rival side by juggling with the ball.

His antics did not quite go down well with the Forest gaffer and he eventually hit out at the forward after the match. Conte too did not hold back and supported Richarlison but understood that it may have not been an appropriate thing.

Cooper hits out at Tottenham player

Tottenham have started off their campaign just as they would have wished for this season under the new management. Moreover, the only two sides rivaling at the moment are Manchester City and Arsenal but it’s a long league.

However, during the clash, as Richarlison began showboating, like the manager, the crowd wasn’t too pleased with the skills. After the match, Cooper lashed out at the player in an interview as he said-

“I wouldn’t want my players to do that, what Richarlison did,”

“If that is accepted at Spurs that is nothing to do with me, but it wouldn’t be accepted here.

“We don’t want to be in awe of these big teams, we want to attack them head-on,”

Conte did not hold back either and said this in response to the Forest gaffer-

“He juggled with the ball, no?”

“It’s a game and you are under pressure. I think it’s OK.

I don’t think he wanted to show disrespect to Nottingham Forest, a really good team with a great history.”

Undoubtedly, Richarlison will hope to improve himself as a player and not just boast his skills on the pitch.
