Wolves manager praises Nunez, his ex-player who has recently joined City

In the summer transfer, we witnessed Matheus Nunes joining Manchester City from Wolverhampton Wanderers. City got him with a transfer fees worth £53 million. The saga happened on the deadline day of the window. However, Gary O’ Neil, the Wolves manager praises Nunez after he joined city.

Nunes, 25, has made one start and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for City so far this season. The Portuguese midfielder has also played once in the UEFA Champions League and has made one substitute appearance in the League Cup. However, in spite of all these, he’s still unable to make his impact on the team and its performance. He may play from the beginning against his former club, Wolves on Sunday.

Wolves manager praises Nunez:

Before hosting City in the PL game, the Wolves boss, Gary O’ Neil said about Nunes,

A talented player. He moved for that amount of money to the best side in the world.
It shows the quality he has. I knew that from the weeks I spent with him. An incredibly talented boy.
It looks like he has played a decent part in their recent games. I expect him to play and like all their fantastic players, we have a plan in place.”

The boss further added that,

I believe that Manchester City midfielder Matheus Nunes could be a star for the club in years to come.
Reported interest from Liverpool shows just how highly Nunes is rated in the footballing community.
Pep Guardiola does not sign players he does not think has potential and could grow under him.
Nunes is only 25 now.
I am confident that the Portugal international will get better and add facets to his game under Guardiola.”

Now it all depends on the Portuguese midfielder that whether he would be able to execute his skills accurately to prove himself as a worthy Citizen or not.
