Victor Osimhen will leave Napoli next season. Chelsea are behind him for a while now. They desperately need a specialised striker and Osimhen is a perfect fit for them. Moreover, the blues have heavily invested in their squad before the start of this season. They’ve brought in players like Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo, Mykhailo Mudryk and many more. What they really need is a perfectionist in attack. They need someone to convert the chances in the final third of the pitch. Goalscoring is the main concern for the blues. They are defending perfectly. But lack of scoring goals is keeping them off the top 4 spot in the league. Osimhen’s arrival could solve that problem.
According to Chelseachronicle, Victor Osimhen has reached an agreement over a new deal with Napoli. However, credible sources say that the Nigerian striker will leave the club next season, irrespective of the fact that he’s signed a new deal. If he signs a new deal, Chelsea will have to wait till the summer of 2024. Moreover, if Osimhen’s new deal contains a release clause, Napoli will have to sell him when it’s triggered upon its activation. Chelsea can trigger that release clause if they have the required resources to do so.

The Napoli striker scored 31 goals last season. He’s been regarded as a world class striker by many in Italy. Moreover, his demand has increased after last season. But his relationship with the club isn’t good as of now. And it’s less likely to improve over a period of time. That means he’ll leave the club even after he signs a new contract. It’s just that he’ll stay till the summer of 2024. Let’s hope that Chelsea get this world class striker in their squad so that they can compete for the top 4 spot in the league.
