Manuel Ugarte is a target not only for PSG but also for Chelsea this summer. The midfielder has attracted a lot of interest from top clubs all over Europe. And it is expected that he will be taking up a new challenge next season.

Chelsea and Newcastle United are ready to step up their pursuit of Uruguayan midfielder Manuel Ugarte. The Premier League sides are reportedly ready to pay €60 million for the 22-year-old star, but there’s intense competition from Paris Saint-Germain for the midfielder.

The player has made 47 appearances for Sporting CP this season, and is one of their most valued assets. He is also a target for Liverpool, but a concrete offer hasn’t been made as of yet.

PSG are well informed on the situation, and have made a proposal to sign him. Their bid is reportedly worth €60 million, which is the same as the release clause in his contract.

Liverpool are also said to be kicking the tires on this deal while Sporting themselves have offered a new contract to Ugarte who now gets to decide his future. Choose wisely

Chelsea and PSG for Ugarte

Chelsea are rumoured to have matched the French club , and the player needs to decide between the Premier League and the Ligue 1. However, while the Blues already have a very stacked squad, they lack a traditional number six apart from N’Golo Kante.

Manuel Ugarte could fill that hole in their squad, but they need to sort out their FFP regulations. PSG, on the other hand, have identified their defensive midfield as an area that needs improvement. In spite of signing Fabian Ruiz, Renato Sanches, Carlos Soler and Vitinha last summer, they need a new midfielder and could land the Uruguayan if terms are fully agreed.
