Transfers: West Ham target Josh Brownhill

West Ham Brownhill

West Ham have set their eyes on Burnley midfielder Josh Brownhill. West Ham are hoping to get Brownhill as Burnley are playing in the Championship next season.

Brownhill was one of the better parts of Burnley’s season as was able to keep the side together at times. Burnley had a resurgence in form after they got rid of long-time manager Sean Dyche. Unfortunately, Burnely will be playing in the Championship next season as they lost their final game against Newcastle United. Had they won the game, Burnley would have stayed and Leeds would have been in their place.

West Ham put their eyes on Josh Brownhill as David Moyes looks to expand the squad. Moreover, Brownhill excelled in counter-attacking football which has peaked West Ham’s interest.

Brownhill: Great Addition

West Ham will lose the services of Mark Noble who has been with the club for years. Noble has been a loyal servant for the club and announced his retirement at the end of the season. Noble hangs up the boot after being at West Ham for years and being their captain and leading from the front. Brownhill will be used to fill this spot at West Ham specifically as both players play a similar role. Moreover, he will expand the squad as the 26-year-old is a great midfielder.

Brownhill has been amazing this season and could be a great replacement for Mark Noble. He has made 68 interceptions in the 2021-22 season and is fourth on the list.

Declan Rice has an uncertain future as he contemplates whether to stay or leave. With several top Premier League clubs showing interest, It is highly unlikely he will stay. Brownhill will be a great addition as he can fill in for Rice in this situation. Moreover, if he stays, both players can play in a double pivot or can compete with each other for the spot.
