Transfer News: Arsenal keeping tabs on Crystal Palace forward

About Football Express UK

Arsenal are currently weighing the possibility of placing a bid for Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha in the transfer window this summer.

The Gunners are on the lookout for a player who can be lethal in the flanks on the pitch. Mikel Arteta has identified Zaha’s profile as a potential candidate to suit the given role in the squad this season.

In 2019, the then Arsenal manager Unai Emery wanted to make a swoop for the Palace forward for the club. However, the transfer back then did not develop into anything concrete and hence the move was not possible.

Arsenal considering move for Zaha

Arsenal have certainly figured out that they will need a player who can cover the flanks and add threat. However, the Gunners have kicked off their Premier League campaign to a great start winning all their matches so far.

Moreover, Mikel Arteta does not want to put brakes on the momentum that has been picked up by the club. The North London gaffer wants to continue to bolster the squad with another profile in the front line this summer.

According to Jones, a journalist, Zaha is a suitable option for the Gunners if a move is to happen. He said-

In the background, there’s Wilfried Zaha for example,”

“That deal is not moving forward at the moment. But Zaha is definitely one of those who ticks those boxes and Arsenal have had an eye on.

So we’ll have to wait and see whether they decide to go down that path.”

There have been no such developments as of yet regarding a potential move to the North London club. However, Arsenal continue to weigh the possibility to land the forward in the transfer window this summer.
