Sutton warns Arsenal of signing Cristiano Ronaldo as he will be a ‘step back’

About Football Express UK

Recently on Twitter, Chris Sutton advised Arsenal to not go for Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo.

He backed his advice by the example of Mikel Arteta and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang last season.

The former Chelsea striker no way thinks that Ronaldo would be a good signing for the Gunners.

Sutton responded to Piers Morgan who said on talkSPORT that Arsenal should try to sign the five-time Ballon d’Or in January.

The Portuguese international recently gave an interview which quickly grabbed all the attention.

In that Ronaldo slammed Eric Ten Hag and club’s degraded situation in an interview with Piers Morgan on TalkTV.

Being an Arsenal fan, Morgan wants the Gunners to try and sign the forward this winter window.

However, Sutton has other views and said that it would be Aubameyang’s situation all over again.

After stripping of the captaincy, Mikel decided to part ways as he went forward to join FC Barcelona on a free transfer.

Recently, Auba joined Arsenal’s rival Chelsea in the summer transfer window of the 2022 season.
