Stelling says Nketiah could decide if Arsenal win the league

Arsenal

Arsenal will feel as though the Premier League title is within their grasp this season. The Gunners have got off to a great start this term,

And they will be hoping that they can go one step further than they did last term and win the title.

However, there are still some huge questions around the Gunners, including their ability to put the ball into the back of the net.

Indeed, Arsenal aren’t scoring as freely as they were last term, and while they have been getting away with it a bit this term – winning six league games by one goal this term, that sort of thing isn’t necessarily sustainable.

There’s been a lot of chat about Arsenal signing a new striker, and speaking on The Game Football Podcast,

Jeff Stelling has now questioned whether or not Eddie Nketiah is good enough to lead Arsenal to a title, claiming that his ability, or lack thereof,

Could be the difference between winning the league or finishing in the top four.

Nketiah could help Arsenal to win the league

Stelling shared his verdict on the £100k-a-week striker. “It’s blindingly obvious isn’t it. I like Eddie Nketiah, he’s a decent player,

certainly fit to play in the Premier League, but is he fit to lead the line for a Premier League winning side? I’m not sure about that. The obvious comparison is Haaland and Nketiah,

And that could be the difference between winning the title and not winning the title,” Stelling said.

Of course, Stelling knows his onions when it comes to talking about these title races,

But we can’t help but disagree here.

To say that Nketiah will be the difference for Arsenal this season is wide of the mark.

Yes, it’s important to have depth and it’s important to have someone you can rely on to score goals in big moments,

But Nketiah is Arsenal’s second-choice striker, he’s not the man who’s going to decide the Gunners’ fate this season.

Arsenal’s fate in an attacking sense will be decided by the likes of Gabriel Jesus,

Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli, not Nketiah.
