Southampton vs Arsenal: Preview and Predicted Line-up

Arsenal Team

Following back-to-back defeats against Crystal Palace and Brighton, Arsenal will be travelling to the south coast to encounter Southampton in a crucial Premier League fixture on Saturday.

Despite starting the season on a disappointing note, the Gunners managed to pull themselves back into the contention for the Champions League spot next season. However, three defeats in the last four games have put them behind the arch-rivals, Tottenham Hotspur, in the race for the top-four finish.

The north London club are currently sitting fifth in the table with 54 points in 30 games. Three points behind the fourth-placed Spurs with a game in hand. On the other hand, the Saints are 14th in the table with 36 points in 31 games.

Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side will be coming into this game off the back of a lacklustre 6-0 defeat against Chelsea last weekend. Meanwhile, in the reverse fixture between these two sides, Arsenal defeated Southampton by 3-0. And the Saints will be eyeing revenge from this encounter.

Southampton are currently without a win against Arsenal in the Premier League over the last six encounters. The Gunners won four of those games and the other two fixtures ended in draws. So, the south coast team will be looking to get back to winning ways against the north London club.
