Romano talks about Arsenal plans of looking for crucial signings

Arsenal

Arsenal has been on a lookout for several potential new signings this time. The club has been linked with numerous strikers, and there is also interest in midfielders. Since, the North London side explores options to bolster their squad.

Nevertheless, Fabrizio Romano indicates that there is another crucial position Arsenal are ready to address soon. Speaking on The Debrief, Romano affirmes his belief that Arsenal is aiming to secure the signing of a new full-back during this month’s transfer window.

Romano said: “At the moment they haven’t found a good or a normal option at the moment, all of the players they like are either very expensive or not on the market like Ivan Toney or Victor Osimhen. I am sure they will try for a full-back and I am sure they will try for a striker.”

Arsenal targetting fullbacks as their priority

Arsenal has been encountering challenges with full-back positions recently. Mainly due to injuries to Oleksandr Zinchenko and Jurrien Timber. However, there is a perspective suggesting that the club might not necessarily need to make a new signing in this position during the ongoing month.

The return of both Zinchenko and Timber to full fitness is imminent. Although the situation is not ideal, it may not be imperative to make a new signing at this juncture. Patience could prove to be a more prudent approach for Arsenal. Since, waiting for the recovery of their first-choice options would be more sensible than investing in a short-term solution that may only be needed for a brief period.

It’s encouraging to know that Arsenal is actively exploring the market for potential new options. However, the notion that acquiring a new full-back should be the top priority for the Gunners this month doesn’t align with our perspective. New signings are indeed necessary for Arsenal. However, prioritizing a full-back may not be at the forefront of their transfer agenda. Since, there could be other positions requiring more immediate attention.
