Tottenham Hotspur are weighing the possibility of placing a bid for Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah in the transfer windows this summer.
The Blues defender is considering making a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer and joining a new side. Moreover, under manager Thomas Tuchel, the defender is concerned over his lack of game time for the season.
Also, the Blues are pursuing Wesley Fofana from Leicester City which could see him slip down further in the pecking order. Antonio Conte’s side have now joined the race to secure the services of the 23-year-old this summer in the window.
Chalobah to consider move to Tottenham Hotspur
Trevoh Chalobah had a breakthrough season in the first team setup last year but is linked with a move already. Chelsea have already seen the departures of Andreas Christensen to Barcelona and Antonio Rudiger to Real Madrid in the window.
Moreover, the Blues could be prepared to witness yet another exit in the backline this summer maybe on a loan. However, Chalobah’s contract with the club keeps him till the summer of 2026 so permanent move maybe ruled out.
Apart from Tottenham, Italian outfits Roma and Inter Milan are also keen to secure his signature in the window.
Whereas, at Tottenham, Conte requires another centre-back as Japhet Tanganga facing an uncertain future with the North London outfit. Here is where the young Chelsea defender could fit under Conte’s Tottenham side for the new season.
The Blues could discuss with Tottenham a loan move if a departure this summer is to eventually take place. Moreover, Tottenham will be ready to negotiate with Chelsea now that the interest is present for Chalobah.
It will be interesting to see if Chalobah leaves for Tottenham for the rest of the season this summer.
