Report: Chelsea boss provides squad’s ‘mixed’ injury news

About Football Express UK

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has opened up on the injury news of the squad ahead of their clash against Leicester City on Saturday.

The Blues’ head coach revealed that an important player of the squad will be on the sidelines for at least a month. The Chelsea boss was referring to N’Golo Kante who has endured a hamstring injury and will not be available now.

During the conclusion of the draw against London rivals Tottenham Hotspur, the gaffer had to withdraw Kante off the pitch. The player was seen limping and had to be taken off immediately as he endured a hamstring injury.

Chelsea boss provides injury update

Chelsea play Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City at home in Stamford Bridge on Saturday but face a few issues. Certain injury concerns have forced the gaffer to turn to the transfer market to make new signings this summer.

However, this seems inevitable as Chelsea require players up front in the attack as their goal-scoring miseries continue. In any case, Tuchel provided an injury update on the squad in a press conference ahead of the clash.

He said-

“We are talking about weeks, talking about four weeks plus. I think that I told you at the end of last season that he is our key player normally, that he gives something to our team that no other player in the world can give to another team.

“That makes him a key player. If your key player is out, it is a situation that you don’t like and have to deal with, but it has huge influence, of course.”

“We have missed his personality and experience and his quality, of course. It’s maybe 20 minutes at the moment, it was his first training week without reaction in the knee and we cannot rush things, otherwise we will sabotage our own plans with him.

Undoubtedly, Chelsea face a challenge due to the injury concerns and Tuchel may need to bring in new players.
