Pablo Mari all set to leave Arsenal this summer Window

Pablo Marí

Pablo Mari looks all set to leave Arsenal this summer window. He was Mikel Arteta’s first signing. However nothing went his way at Arsenal. He is still considered as flop at Arsenal.

Mari is set to complete a permanent move from Arsenal to Monza after they secured their Serie A survival. The Italian club have activated an option in the his loan deal worth £4.4million.

How things went between Arsenal and Pablo Mari

Mari will begin a mass senior player exodus this summer. As the Londoners continue to offload fringe stars. They are looking at replacing aged players with youngsters.

Arsenal signed Mari on an initial loan in 2020. With the defender eventually costing a reported fee of £6.8million when a permanent deal was agreed later that year.

The former Man City ace made just 22 appearances across all competitions for Arteta’s side before going out on his first loan to Udinese last season.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Arsenal are set to receive £6m for Pablo Mari, as his loan transfer to Serie A side AC Monza is made permanent.

Monza had an obligation to buy Mari in their loan deal from Arsenal, depending on certain conditions. One of those was widely reported to be that Monza avoid relegation, and the club have now mathematically secured their status as a Serie A club for another season.

With the conditions of Mari’s permanent transfer seemingly fulfilled, the only thing that could have held up a deal would have been the player failing to agree personal terms with his new club.Given Romano’s update that terms have already been agreed, it seems there’s nothing stopping a deal at this stage.

Other players who could be leaving Arsenal and new incoming rumours as well

Several others could leave to boost the warchest at the Emirates. This include Albert Sambi Lokonga, Nuno Tavares and Cedric Soares. While Folarin Balogun could recoup a fine fee after a brilliant year with Reims. Xhaka and Kieran Tierney look destined to depart. While club-record signing Nicolas Pepe could command a small fee in Ligue 1.

Leverkusen star Moussa Diaby is top of the wish list, who could replace Martinelli in the starting line-up – a cruel reward for his 15-goal campaign in the Premier League. Arsenal were already looking to bolster their midfield so losing Xhaka will possibly mean two new arrivals in the engine department. West Ham star Declan Rice and Brighton ace Moises Caicedo are top of the shopping list. The rumours say that the deal will cost up to €80 million. Rice is keen on a move to a Champions League team. However, he dreams of winning the Premier League and the Champions League.

Arsenal are showing an interest in AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori as they consider adding another centre back. Rob Holding has tried his best to fill in for the injured William Saliba. But it’s very clear that he isn’t quite on the same level. Maybe this is the next step Arsenal need to take. They first add top-quality depth to Mikel Arteta’s squad to try and take down Manchester City. Arsenal are here to stay and challenge for the coming years. Arsenal is a club to watch out for. Saliba is still better one the best defenders in the league. Arsenal should be looking to get someone of similar quality.
