Mikel Arteta is ready to unleash David Raya into the first team

About Football Express UK

Arteta is finally ready to give David Raya his opportunity in starting 11. Arsenal were busy in the transfer window over the summer. This is by bolstering their ranks with a host of high-profile signings.

Arguably one of the most exciting new arrivals for Arsenal was Spain goalkeeper David Raya from Brentford.

As per ESPN, Arsenal signed Raya on an initial loan deal. This is from Premier League rivals Brentford for £3million. It has an option to buy come the end of the season.

Arteta has made plans to integrate David Raya into the playing 11

According to the Daily Mail, Arteta is apparently planning to give the Spanish Goalkeeper an extended run in between the sticks for Arsenal.

The outlet claimed earlier this week that the Arsenal boss Arteta really loves what he’s been seeing from Raya. This is ofcourse in training.

This is not unexpected. Raya made a name for himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League. This is during his time at Brentford.

Ironically, Raya was reported to be a target for Tottenham earlier this window. Now, he is with their bitter rivals.

Let’s see what happens after the international break with Raya. It’ll be exciting to see the 27-year-old finally get a chance for Arsenal between the sticks.

Admittedly, it’s not great news for Ramsdale. But with such fierce competition, standards will go up. Which will only benefit the Gunners in the long run. Arsenal are hoping to close their gap with Manchester City in the Premier League this season. A fierce competition in goal might help Arsenal improve their defensive attributes as well as give players more confidence.
