Manchester United are willing to give one final push in the pursuit of Frenkie de Jong in the transfer window this summer.
Manager Erik ten Hag has always held a strong interest to bring his former Ajax midfielder to Old Trafford. Moreover, the Red Devils boss even made attempts to sign the Blaugrana outfit midfielder in the transfer window this summer.
However, de Jong has been very clear that will not join the Mancunian side as it does not play Champions League football. Moreover, the midfielder is interested in a move to Chelsea only because they play in Europe’s top-tier competition.
Manchester United to push for de Jong one final time
Manchester United have signed a new player in the transfer window to bolster the midfield for the rest of the season. Casemiro is all set to don the United outfit this summer as all the parties have agreed on the transfer.
However, the Red Devils have still not yet won a match in their first two games in the English top flight. The manager believes that some more squad changes will be needed to bring the side to a competitive level.
The United gaffer wants to bring de Jong to Old Trafford and pair him with Casemiro on the pitch. However, the midfielder has rejected ten Hag’s advances many times this summer for a possible move to the Mancunian side.
Moreover, convincing the Barcelona ace to join the red side of Manchester could be a difficult task. However, ten Hag wants to give one final push in the pursuit of de Jong to secure his services.
Undoubtedly, it remains to be a difficult task for the United manager to convince the former Ajax midfielder. However, it will be interesting to see if de Jong joins the side this summer for the season.
