“Lovely afternoon”- Christian Eriksen responds to Arsenal skipper’s criticism

About Football Express UK

Manchester United have pulled off an exceptional win over Arsenal during the weekend in their sixth fixture of the Premier League season.

Arsenal side came into the match having won all their matches in the season being the only side to do so. Whereas, United had a dismal start to their season getting battered in the first two matches and then gaining momentum.

Clearly, Erik ten Hag’s new signings and change in the gameplay has helped the club earn the points this season. However, after the loss to United, Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard was left in bad taste and seemed frustrated.

Eriksen responds to Arsenal skipper’s criticism

Martin Odegaard was left frustrated because of the referee dispossessing him in a potential scoring opportunity for Arsenal. In view of the opportunity to give the side the lead and losing it due to the referee, Odegaard spoke.

Speaking in an interview after the match, he said-

“In my opinion, it’s never a foul. For me, it is very, very soft.

On the camera, you can always make it look a little bit worse. It’s frustrating.”

“I barely touched him, they keep saying this is the Premier League and want it to be physical. I don’t understand how he can go back on it.”

Arsenal eventually lost their winning streak that could have been extended to a six-match lead over other clubs. However, ten Hag’s side were too good for Mikel Arteta’s side to break their pattern and win the three points.

Eriksen joined the club this season and has been impressing fans with his terrific display on the pitch for United. Responding to the criticism made by the Arsenal skipper, Eriksen responded by saying-

“It was a lovely afternoon.”

The Red Devils are giving other clubs a run for their money with their impressive performances in the recent games. The side now seems to be shaping up pretty well and can compete for the top-four spot this season.
