Liverpool go agead and make their decision on Andre transfer

Liverpool

The Reds have been getting ready for the January transfer window. And they’ve decided to pull out of the race to sign Brazilian midfielder Andre from Fluminense. Liverpool were heavily linked with the young midfielder in the summer and did enquire about the player. But as of recent reports, Liverpool have decided against the transfer and look to move elsewhere for options. Fulham are now the leading candidates to sign the 22-year-old. The london side has reportedly planned to submit a bid of £30 million for the midfielder. The Reds have decided to look for defenders rather than defensive midfielders to strengthen their defense.

Liverpool’s transfer policy moving ahead

The Evening Standard reports, Fulham have moved ahead of Liverpool in the race to sign Andre. Fulham’s chief executive Alistair Mackintosh flew to Brazil for face-to-face talks with the player and his agent last week. This clearly shows that Liverpool are not making efforts to sign the Brazilian right now. Goncalo Inacio is rumoured to be one player Liverpool reportedly want to bring in next summer. But Liverpool might return for the likes of the Brazilian midfielder if he proves to be a good player in the Premier League with Fulham. But as of now it seems that Liverpool have pulled out of the race to sign Andre.

Decisive games coming up

The Reds are moving close to the end of season with a tight race for the title with current Premier League winners Man City. With Man City struggling with injuries, the Merseyside club may have a chance to overtake the treble winners in the points table. Man City and Liverpool are separated by a single point and they face each other before the end of the month. Next month the Reds face their rivals Man United and Arsenal in the league.
