Levi Colwill isn’t fit for Chelsea according to the football pundit.

Wright Chelsea's Potter

Chelsea renovated their squad before this season. They bought young players and a new manager. They did all that was possible to get better results. However, it seems that there’s no improvement as Chelsea sit at the mid table as of now. The club have won just 1 game in their last 4 games. Furthermore, injury crisis is another blow for the blues this season. New arrival Christopher Nkunku is still recovering from his injury. The first half of the season is about to end and the Frenchman hasn’t been able to make his debut for Chelsea. Football pundit Tony Cascarino has put forward his views on the club’s present day scenario. His main concern was the ex Brighton defender Levi Colwill.

Acording to tbrfootball, Tony Cascarino believes that the £40 million ex Brighton defender isn’t the right fit for Chelsea’s back line at the moment. To be more precise, Cascarino believes that Colwill isn’t ready for playing in the big teams at this stage of his career. He must get some playing time elsewhere and then get back at the Stamford Bridge. He is exposed to regular playing time in high pressure matches and that hasn’t worked out for him. Furthermore, back to back defeats will only lower the self confidence of the player.

What should Levi Colwill do?

The 20 year old Englishman had only 17 appearances for Brighton before joining Chelsea. The blues went with the hype and signed him. A young player like him should have been given more time at another club. Moreover, Colwill’s performance has declined considerably this season. We think high pressure might be the main reason behind this. He’s not ready to start for Chelsea every week. He needs some time to adapt. He’s not even matched half of his abilities as compared to his last season’s performance. Chelsea rushed things during his signing and it’s affecting both the player and the club.
