Newcastle United are reportedly looking to sign a new left-back and Tierney is said to be their priority. This is with Arsenal’s Kieran Tierney and Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella among their targets.
The Magpies have spent big money to sign Sandro Tonali. They spent more money on Harvey Barnes and Tino Livramento but they have been somewhat limited. This is by potential Financial Fair Play issues.
Eddie Howe is reportedly in the market for a left-back. So that he can compete with Dan Burn. The former Brighton man has spent most of his career as a centre-back. But he filled in brilliantly at full-back last season when the team needed him
Kieran Tierney to Newcastle would be the best for both parties
The Telegraph are reporting that ‘Newcastle United are looking to sign a left-back on loan. This is before the close of the transfer window. This comes with both Arsenal’s Tierney and Chelsea’s Cucurella of interest to them’.
Tierney – who is valued at £30m – dropped down the pecking order last season. This was following Oleksandr Zinchenko’s move to Arsenal. Cucurella meanwhile signed for Chelsea from Brighton last summer. This was for around £60m. And he endured a difficult debut season at Stamford Bridge last year.
