Kevin De Bruyne describes Arsenal in one word after win

Manchester City Guardiola

Kevin De Bruyne used one word to describe Arsenal after Manchester City won 4-1. Manchester City were sensational against the Gunners. They blew Mikel Arteta’s side away, taking a 3-0 lead inside 54 minutes.

What Kevin De Bruyne said to describe Arsenal

It was Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland who really destroyed the visitors apart. The Gunner defence simply could not handle the quality of Manchester City’s attacking players. And the scoreline could have been a lot worse heading into the half time. The Gunners had the opportunity to wrestle back the control in the title race. But by the time they showed signs of life, City had largely put the game past them.

Nevertheless, Arsenal have received some credit from De Bruyne. He was speaking in a post-match interview with BT Sport. He said:-

“They are a class team and hard to play against. We had to be at our best today and they were,”

But one of Mikel Arteta’s toughest challenges this term is yet to come. He looks to find a way to get his side to push Manchester City as far as they can. Arsenal looked a long way from being serious contenders at the Etihad, barely laid a glove on City and the way they have collapsed in recent games – taking just three points from their last 12 – is a poor reflection on their mentality.

Arsenal barely had an attack and no-one could complain when City got a second in first half injury time. Partey gave away a silly free kick, De Bruyne sent over a lovely free kick, John Stones rose at the back post and headed home. Arsenal look finished whereas Treble-chasing City are just getting started.
