Chelsea managed to pull off a pretty impressive late summer transfer signing as they tied up their transfer business last week.
It capped off a very busy time for the club of buying and selling players, and the squad ended up being completely rebuilt.
Cole Palmer arrived in through the door from Manchester City for a fee of around £40m.
Some may have questioned that fee for a 21-year-old who had never really managed to become a regular starter for City.
But one Journalist believes that fee has the potential to end up looking like a bit of a bargain and says that Palmer is a player that has that ‘X-factor’.
WHERE DOES COLE PALMER FIT IN AT CHELSEA?
An inside-left role would allow Palmer to come into central positions to get on the ball regularly.
it would seem to suit him more than the high-and-wide left-sided position that Guardiola asks City’s wingers to play.
Paul Merson thinks the attacking playmaker will be a good addition to the squad at Stamford Bridge.
Journalist Ryan Taylor told GIVEMESPORT: “I think it’s good business for Chelsea. .
I think we’re in a market nowadays where pretty much anyone is worth £40million to £50million.
But, actually, if you look long-term,
I think Cole Palmer could be a player that has the potential to be worth a lot more than what they’ve paid for him.
“I think he’s very technically gifted. He’s got a little bit of X-factor.
I know he’s not the finished article just yet, but he is still so young, so he just needs some time to adapt.”
I tend to fully agree with that comment as well. Palmer has something about him
He can really become a special player.
With world class players ahead of him at City it was always going to be tough to get starts,
But with Chelsea’s mis-firing attacks, he should get plenty of starts here and can really show what a player he is.
