Liverpool legend John Barnes says that the Reds have found a gem in Dominik Szoboszlai. Moreover, he believes that clubs like Arsenal and Manchester would never have found him. The ex Liverpool player believes that the Hungarian has arrived out of nowhere and is impressing everyone at Anfield. He has become an important player at Liverpool. Szoboszlai came for £60 million in the last transfer window. Since then, he’s got 2 goals and 2 assists in 16 appearances for the Reds so far this season. John Barnes is very happy about the fact that Liverpool have uncovered this gem this season.

According to tbrfootball, John Barnes was full of praises for Dominik Szoboszlai. He believes that the 23 year old Hungary international is a perfect fit for Liverpool.

“Who else would’ve know so much about Szoboszlai other than Liverpool? I’m sure that Arsenal and Manchester City must have ignored this talent. The talent identification system is on another level at Liverpool. They’ve found this gem from RB Leipzig and now he’s delivering consistently for the club. Moreover, he’s playing under the management of Jurgen Klopp who’s known for turning young talents into world class players ” – John Barnes said.

John Barnes says that Arsenal wouldn’t have found Dominik Szoboszlai like Liverpool did.

We believe that John Barnes is making an overestimated statment here. Szoboszlai wasn’t exactly an unknown player when he arrived at Liverpool. He was a £60 million midfielder wanted by other top clubs of Europe. Arsenal’s talent identification system is no less than Liverpool. The Gunners got players like Gabriel Martinelli and Takehiro Tomiyasu from other leagues when they were mostly unknown to the premier league. Now both of them are playing key roles in Arsenal’s impressive season. It’s just that Dominik Szoboszlai has got more spotlight at the moment. Furthermore, Liverpool are the league leaders at the moment so everyone is talking about them.
