Joe Cole asserts that Mauricio Pochettino is not positioning the center back correctly

Axel Disasi is a natural centre back, having been acquired by Chelsea for £38.8 million (Sky Sports) from AS Monaco during the summer.

But in the Blues’ 2-0 loss to Brentford, Mauricio Pochettino began him on the right side of his defence. And Joe Cole, a Chelsea legend, disagrees with Axel Disasi playing at right back.

One reason Pochettino might have chosen to start Disasi at right-back for the Brentford loss is that Reece James is making a comeback from a hamstring injury.

Joe Cole thinks right-back Axel Disasi is not the best fit

Joe Cole claims in a TNT Sports interview that the role is not a good fit for him.

the former England international said: “Disasi has played right-back at times, which doesn’t suit him. He’s a good player, at centre-half done really well.”

And now one of the toughest question in english media is Should the 25-year-old continue playing at right-back?

Via Cole it’s absolutely not possible. He is winning the second-highest average of Pochettino’s team’s aerial duels this season. That is 2.4 per game, according to WhoScored.

His ability in the air is what makes him strong. And that’s where you want him—not chasing wingers on the flank.

He should now be expected to start in central defence with Thiago Silva as we see 1-4 win over Tottenham last night. Otherwise, it’s depends on Pochettino how he formed the chemistry.

Disasi really has no business starting at right-back now that James and Gusto are back. As Marc Cucurella is a player who is likely a better fit for the position than the 25-year-old.

Although Cucurella is a left-back by nature, he has played right-back this season thus far.

However, the Spaniard ought to be chosen over Disasi if Chelsea is without their regular choices in that position.
