Benfica midfielder and Arsenal target Joao Neves is one of the hottest properties in Europe right now. And Arsenal are among the clubs keeping a close eye on the player with keen interest.
Neves has rose to prominence over in Portugal with some fine performances for Benfica this season. The 19-year-old scored this weekend as well in the big game against their arch rivals Sporting Lisbon.
Arsenal ready to spend big for Joao Neves
According to 90Min, Arsenal are just one of a number of English teams who are keen on signing Neves. This comes only if the chance arises.
Any deal to bring Neves to the club could prove expensive. This is with a release-clause of £104m. This is by showing just how much Benfica value him at.
Luis Castro, their former coach , went on to say that:
“(He can) play in any championship in the world. (He’s) a complete and very intelligent player. The Premier League is the best league in the world, and not only would he be able to adapt, but he would also play and shine,”
Premier League clubs have raided the Portuguese league. This is over the last few decade or so. A number of big names have shone, including Ruben Neves, Jota and more. The receny one being Matheus Nunes.
Joao Neves could well be the next one to make a splash. And Arsenal might well be the ideal club for him to land soon. Arsenal want to strengthen their squad with upgrades over the ageing players.
Neves is a star in the making and Arsenal would be very lucky to get their hands on him. He is surely one to look out for in the near future. Other Premier League clubs surely won’t make it easy for Arsenal to sign the talent.
