Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker have named three teams vying for the Premier League title: Manchester City, Arsenal, and Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham leads the table with 26 points. Make a little gap from City of 2 points. Gunners are also there where finish their last season. So far, it’s looking promising.
Shearer and Lineker were on ‘The Rest Is Football Podcast‘ with Micah Richards, discussing their Premier League picks of this season.
Alan Shearer believes City will win the Premier League ahead of Arsenal and Tottenham
Alan Shearer was adamant about City, but Gary Lineker believed Tottenham and Arsenal should also be considered.
Blackburn Rovers legend initially claimed: “I’m not changing my mind. I said City.”
But Lineker then added his opinion: “I went with Arsenal, of course.“
“Mainly because you two said City and we couldn’t all say City!
“But they are there, right alongside them and it’s great we have Tottenham in the title race – certainly a race for a top four position and doing way better than they anticipated.”
Although fact that Liverpool was left out is probably a little bit harsh.
Even the trio praised Erling Haaland a lot. As The teams in North London don’t always have a world-class goal scorer like Manchester City does.
But apart from Manchester City, Son Heung-Min is currently doing a fantastic job at Tottenham taking Harry Kane’s goals.
However, Arsenal still lacks a player who can regularly score 20 goals per season.
Now even Ian Wright admitted that despite having many excellent qualities, Gabriel Jesus hasn’t shown that he can score goals consistently.
In case of Arsenal both Shearer and Wright has doubt on Nketiah.
But so far Alan notes that while City remains the clear favourites to win the championship, Arsenal and Tottenham also need to think they have a real chance.
