One of the primary Manchester United targets, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is reportedly willing to leave Tottenham Hotspur in the winter window, as per the transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano. If this happens true, then we may expect a move of Hojbjerg to Man United next year.
He has established himself as an unputdownable part of Spurs’ squad over the last few years. However, he has found it difficult to make his place into new boss Ange Postecoglou’s starting eleven early on this season.
It was previously reported that Tottenham were open to let him leave this summer. Moreover, Atletico Madrid were the ones who were most keen to acquire him. Man Utd were also planning to make a swoop for him. However, the deal eventually didn’t materialize before the deadline. Hence, at the end, the midfielder had to stay in the English capital.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano has reported that after getting frustrated with the lack of playing time at the newly renovated White Hart Lane this season, Hojbjerg is considering leaving Spurs in January.
He further claims that if the Denmark international failed to manage to make a move away from Tottenham in winter then he will certainly leave the club in the summer.
Hojbjerg to Man United:
Romano said:
“For Hojbjerg the contract with his agent has ended and so he’s looking for the opportunities, new options. And the January transfer window could be interesting for Hojbjerg because he wants to try a new chapter in 2024. It could be January, it could be summer but for sure, Hojbjerg is looking for a new opportunity.”
Romano also states that Hojbjerg was on Ten Hag’s wish-list this summer. However, as United eventually opted to sign Sofyan Amrabat – who was their primary target.
However, Amrabat has signed a six months loan deal with the red devils. So United might not make a permanent move for him if they see Hojbjerg available as free agent in the winter transfer market.
Hojbjerg, the 28 years old Dniah player has currently a value of around £39m in the transfer market.
