ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE

England international Harry Kane scores 4 against San Marino.

About Football Express UK

The England striker Harry Kane has scored in back to back matches. He scored a hat-trick against Albania and also scored 4 against San Marino.

England has now qualified for The 2022 Qatar World Cup after demolishing San Marino 10-0.

It can be said arguably that England has faced very easy opponents. Albania fielded professional football players whereas San Marino only had one professional player. The 10-0 thrashing does not come as a surprise because England is too good for these developing teams.

Harry Kane closing in to set goalscoring record with England

During the 2018 WC and even in the Euros 2021, fans criticised England. The criticism over the years comes because of their star-studded team, not winning trophies. The last trophy they won was in 1966.

Even their golden era of David Beckham, Scholes, Rooney, Gerrard and many others could not win. The fans expect a lot from the new generation of youngsters and players.

Despite England not winning any silverware, Harry Kane has been brilliant for them. Kane scored a hat-trick against Panama in the 2018 WC and won the Golden Boot.

As of now, he is joint third with Gary Lineker with 48 goals. He is now 5 goals away from Wayne Rooney’s record of 53 goals.

In terms of competitive games, Harry Kane is England’s top scorer. Only Jimmy Greaves has more hat-tricks than Harry Kane. Kane also has the most goals in a calendar year (12) for England.

Kane vs Robert Lewandowski

Often fans compare Harry Kane to strikers but the comparison with Lewandowski and Suarez is not sensible.

Talking about Robert Lewandowski, he is clear of Harry Kane. Robert Lewandowski is the 4th top scorer in international football with Poland. Poland’s international team is very weak in comparison to England.

Not only international record but also concerning the club. It is true that Spurs are inconsistent now and not as good as they were in 2018/19. Robert Lewandowski has shown consistency in every league, especially in the Champions League.

He has 81 goals in 100 games making him one of the most clinical strikers. In 2019/20, when Bayern Munich won the Champions League, Lewandowski scored 15 goals. A staggering 15 goals tied him for second with Messi for most goals scored in a single campaign.

Even in the Bundesliga, Robert Lewandowski has broken Gerd Muller’s record of 40 goals in a season. The Polish striker scored 40 goals in 2020/21 and also won the European golden boot.
