Gary Neville has again said that he still feels Arsenal will win the Premier League. This is ahead of Manchester City and Liverpool this season.
As we edge closer to the halfway point of the Premier League campaign, the title race remains incredibly open for any club to win it. Just six points separate the top five of the league at present. Arsenal are top of the table on 39 points. This is while Liverpool and Aston Villa are second and third respectively on 38 points. The Reds have a slightly better goal difference than Villa.
What Gary Neville had to say about the Premier League title race
Gary Neville went on to say:
“I’ve said Arsenal are going to win the league because I’m banking on those little bits of injuries you get post-treble, that post-treble complacency and drop-off, and I’m banking on Arsenal keeping their main players fit,”
“I do think Arsenal are the only challengers for City, I never bought into the Liverpool thing before [Sunday]. It could happen just because of purely Jurgen Klopp, if they strengthen that midfield in January, but I feel Arsenal are a better team.”
Arsenal are certainly stronger than last season. And Liverpool have bounced back from a mediocre campaign last time out and will fancy their chances.
As for Aston Villa and Tottenham, I feel neither are not quite the finished product just. This is yet in terms of pushing for the title and strength in depth. But top 4 is certainly in their reach.
Let’s see what the January window brings to the clubs. The likes of Spurs and Newcastle could well look to bolster their ranks. This is as their strength in depth isn’t a particularly strong point.
Arsenal are still our favourites to win the Premier League this season with Liverpool coming a close 2nd.
