Christopher Nkunku may play a different role post his return at Chelsea.

Christopher Nkunku may play a different role when he returns to Chelsea. The Frenchman is currently recovering from an injury that he suffered in the last match of his pre season tour. The club as well as the fans were excited to see Nkunku play when he signed for the blues. However, his injury shattered the hopes of everyone including the player himself. Because of this situation, Chelsea coach Mauricio Pochettino had difficulty dealing with the Frenchman’s absence. He had initially bought Nkunku to play him as an attacker. But due to this unexpected situation of injury, the coach has to restructure the attack.

As per caughtoffside, Pochettino had to shift towards youngsters like Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson. Moreover, these youngsters lack experience as compared to Nkunku. However, their performances speaks otherwise. Chelsea coach Mauricio Pochettino spoke on Nkunku’s situation.

“It’s really sad for us to see him get injured even before the first game of the season. We are eagerly waiting for his return and we’ll figure out that how can we fit him in our team.” – Mauricio Pochettino said.

Nkunku is completely focused on his recovery. He is eagerly waiting for his debut in the premier league anytime soon.

Why Christopher Nkunku may play a different role upon his return?

When Nkunku was out of the team, Pochettino started experimenting with the youngsters. One such youngster is Cole Palmer. The English youngster is currently in the best of his form. Nkunku’s return would only provide more options to the coach with respect to the attacking unit of the team. However, it’s upto the Argentine that where he wants to use Nkunku. Nkunku loves taking on defenders. He could play as an attacking midfielder. Who knows? Let’s hope the Frenchman gets a speedy recovery so that he can show everyone that what he’s got.
