Chelsea to release Aubameyang for free this summer transfer window

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang won’t be part of Chelsea pre-season tour in America. He is ready to finalize his transfer to Ligue 1 club Marseille.

At the age of 34, Aubameyang had limited appearances for Chelsea in the previous season. Since, he moved on from Barcelona for a fee of £12m. Given his past with Arsenal, it was not anticipated that he would be a prominent part of Mauricio Pochettino’s strategies for the upcoming season at Chelsea.

Meanwhile, reports say that Pierre Aubameyang is currently undergoing medical tests. Since, he prepares to join Ligue 1 club OM (Olympique de Marseille). He arrived in Germany last night and is now in the process of completing his medical examination. Once everything is final, he will sign a contract with OM until 2026. Notably, this transfer is setting to be a free transfer from Chelsea.

Chelsea on the lookout for Caicedo

With Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s departure from Chelsea, the club is actively engaging in negotiations with Brighton for midfielder Moises Caicedo. The talented 21-year-old Ecuador international is what people believe to be Mauricio Pochettino’s primary transfer target. The club has allegedly made an initial bid of £80 million for Caicedo. But Brighton is standing firm in their demands and is holding out for a fee of £100 million for their star player. The discussions between the two clubs are still ongoing as they aim to reach a suitable agreement for the midfielder’s transfer.

This Saturday, Chelsea is going to face Brighton in Philadelphia as part of the Premier League Summer Series. Additionally, Brighton has matches lined up against Brentford in Atlanta and Newcastle in New Jersey. After the game against Brighton, Chelsea is ready to take on Newcastle on Thursday, July 27, and will wrap up their American tour with a match against Fulham on July 30.
