Chelsea to miss out on summer target, PSG closing in on wonderkid

Chelsea are reportedly set to miss out on their summer target to sign Brazilian wonderkid Gabriel Moscardo. The Blues have been trying to sign the Brazilian midfielder for some time now. The 18 year old Corinthians player has been making headlines with his performance in the Brasileiro Série A. The 18 year old has already become a regular player for the Corinthians first team. Chelsea were lining up an offer for the defensive midfielder, but PSG seem to have the edge over the Blues now. According to reports, PSG director Luis Campos will travel to Brazil this weekend to secure the signing of Gabriel Moscardo from Corinthians.

PSG and Chelsea transfer targets

PSG are looking to finalize the deal of Gabriel Moscardo in £21 million, during Luis Campo’s visit to Brazil. Meanwhile, Chelsea are set to focus on a striker in the January. PSG reportedly are in a ‘rush’ to sign the wonderkid as soon as possible. Moscardo has caught eyes of many clubs, including Liverpool and Barcelona. But the French club are in the pole position to sign the player as per recent reports. Chelsea have a number of midfielders in their squad, and the 18 year old might have feared about his chances to play at the Stamford Bridge. Chelsea squad has Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo, Conor Gallagher, Romeo Lavia, Lesley Ugochukwu, Carney Chukwuemeka and Andrey Santos all aged 23 or younger. When asked about the interest from Chelsea, the player said,

“There was a proposal from Chelsea months ago, but I talk a lot with my agent and my parents and they try to give me as little information as possible.
“They say there is not long until the end of the season; they tell me to dedicate myself and do well and that there will be good things at the end of the season.”
