Chelsea can have their very own “Spanish Mafia”: Marc Cucurella

Wright Chelsea's Potter

Chelsea left back Marc Cucurella has made some interesting comments speaking to the club’s website. Chelsea have recently signed two new players from Brighton, Moises Caicedo and Robert Sanchez in the summer. Caicedo was the star signing for Chelsea in the defensive midfielder role, expected to bring strength to the team. While Robert Sanchez plays as a Goalkeeper and was expected to be the replacement of on loan Kepa. Caicedo is Ecuadorian, whereas, Robert Sanchez plays for the Spanish National team. But both players are incidentally native Spanish speakers, including Marc. Leading to the comments by the Spanish left back, as they could form their own ‘Spanish mafia’ in the club.

What did Cucurella actually mean?

Marc Cucurella is known for his funny and joking nature in the Chelsea squad. Speaking to Chelsea’s website, he expressed his joy about the two new signings joining Chelsea. Marc has obviously played with both of them at Brighton.
He said,

“I am very happy they joined, I told them it’s an important club, they would feel very good here, that I am happy here, and that we would have a Spanish mafia!”

He explained that most of the coaching staff are also Spanish speakers, which makes it easier for them to communicate with the coaches.
He said,

“That we can speak as well with the manager in Spanish makes it easier to explain our mistakes or what we need to do on the pitch.”

Things improving for Chelsea says Cucurella

With Pochettino as the head and many other native Spanish speakers, communication between the squad is not a problem for the blues. Chelsea look to improve their form as they have been performing poorly this season. Pochettino has had some good results against top sides like City and Spurs recently. Marc Cucurella is optimistic that things are looking to turn around for Chelsea in the second half of the season.
