Chelsea are preparing for the January transfer window in order to update the squad. The blues are looking to bring in required transfers to make a final attempt in the transfer window to strengthen their squad. This is the last chance for Chelsea to make changes to the team before trying for a spot at the top 4. Moreover, the club would try to offload as much less players as possible in the January transfer window. Already 23 players have left the squad on a temporary or permanent basis in the last transfer window. Mauricio Pochettino seems quite satisfied with the depth of his squad and it’s not in his plans to make further departures from the club.
As per footballlondon, the blues are focusing on making an addition to thier midfield. Romeo Lavia is still dealing with his injury. Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo rarely get any rest, a new midfielder is a must for the club. Andrey Santos, the 19 year old Midfielder from Brazil is can be called back by the blues. He is currently having a loan spell at Nottingham Forest.
Furthermore, the youngster has only played for 7 minutes at the club. Because of this lack of playing time, the blues are considering to recall the player. However, they’d have a difficult time loaning him out again. Because s the maximum limit of overseas loaning of players is 7 as per the FIFA rules. And Chelsea have already reached that limit. With no English intrest at the moment in Andrey Santos, the club would require to cancel the loan spell of another player in order to again loan out Andrey Santos.

As we’ve already discussed, with Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez being the regular starters, they don’t get enough amount of time to recover. Moreover, Romeo Lavia is suffering from an injury. If anyone out of Caicedo and Fernandez gets injured, Pochettino will have a hard time dealing with his midfield. Therefore Andrey Santos’s arrival is a must for the club. Furthermore, the Argentine coach is having a good time dealing with the youngsters this season, so there’s a high probability that Santos will be playing confidently under Pochettino.
