Chelsea are ahead of Tottenham Hotspur in the race for Everton’s Anthony Gordon

Young 21-year-old Everton’s Anthony Gordon is in the race for Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur. Chelsea, founded on March 10, 1905, is the only London club ever to win the Champions League. One of the strongest clubs in the European Championship, finished in third place, far behind Man City and Liverpool. Blues are starting a new era after owner Abramovich stepped down due to political reasons. The club from Fulham, West London have last won their English title in 2016-2017. The Blues have won twice, a draw and a loss in their opening four matches this season. According to the report, Chelsea sits ahead of their London rival Spurs for the race of Anthony Gordon.

The biggest rival of Arsenal and Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, was founded on September 5, 1882. In recent years, the Spurs have been in the top 6 in the Premier League. Despite these good performances, Tottenham Hotspur haven’t been champion for more than fifty years now. The Italian manager Antonio Conte would definitely like to improve the club’s ranking. The club finished 22 points short of the title champions. The club with the Latin motto Audere est Facere “to dare is to do” would like to get their hands on young English talent.

Will Chelsea beat Tottenham Hotspur in signing Anthony Gordon of Everton?

The  21-years-old young English talent plays as a winger for Premier League club Everton. Anthony Gordon is a product of Liverpool and Everton youth academy. Later, Gordon joined Everton as an 11-year-old. Furthermore, on February 2021 he was sent on loan to the Championship club Preston North End.

Earlier this week, Tottenham Hotspur were willing to pay £35 million to capture the 21-year-old. The Spurs manager Antonio Conte wants the Englishman to join the Tottenham Hotspur, leaving Goodison Park. However, Chelsea are capable of blowing the North Londoners out of the water. The Blues are paying a staggering £60 million to bring the 21-year-old to Stamford Bridge.
