Chelsea are having an impressive season this time. The blues have worked upon their mistakes from the past season and they seem to be getting back on track. Moreover, the new boss Mauricio Pochettino has transformed the team back into one of the best clubs in England. However, the blues are still out of the top 4, the way they’re playing will surely get them there. The team has scored just 38 goals in as many games last season. But they have improved incredibly, netting 17 goals so far in the season in just 11 games. They’ve all the required resources to compete for the top 4 in their team. However, the only missing piece in their squad is a specialised striker. Recently, reports have emerged in which Chelsea aiming for a top striker was the main attraction.
The last forward to score 20 or more goals for the blues in a season was the Spain international, Diego Costa. Chelsea won the league that season. Costa made us realise that how much important it is to have a habitual scorer in the team. The fans at the Stamford Bridge are expecting another Diego Costa in the team.
Chelsea aiming for a potential threat in the opponent’s box: which players should they aim.
According to footballfancast, Chelsea have targeted 2 of the most prolific strikers in the recent times. These are- Brentford star Ivan Toney and Napoli star Victor Osimhen. Toney has a £100 million price tag upon him set by hi club whereas the Nigerian forward has a current market value of £70 million. Moreover, one of these 2 strikers would be a perfect fit for Pochettino’s squad. Given the support of Raheem Sterling and Mykhailo Mudryk from the wings, Either of these forwards are going to make the best use of it if they arrive at the Stamford Bridge.
