The West London club Chelsea is eager to sign in a better right back among Reece James and Trent Alexander-Arnold. Chelsea fans were not expecting the result from their beloved club at the end of last season. The club under the management of German manager Thomas Tuchel, were at 3rd position on the points table last season.
Surely enough, the German manager does want to put his hands on each trophy this season. Tuchel also had a busy transfer session in the Summer Transfer Window. Bringing in numerous promising talented footballers to reinforce his team’s attack and defence. But, when everything was going right for the Blues fans, their joy and hopes were given a setback by the removal of the promising current Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel. The arrival of the English manager Graham Potter kept the Blues fans in dilemma.
Who will be England’s manager’s first preference in the right-back position among Reece James and Trent Alexander-Arnold?

Trent Alexander-Arnold – Form or Inform?
The 23-years-old Trent Alexander-Arnold is an Englishman. Who plays as a right-back for last season’s runner-ups Liverpool and for the English national team. The young rising right-back is the product of Liverpool’s youth academy. Furthermore, he also leads his youth club across various youth-level contests. Moreover, he made his senior debut in the year 2016, just at the age of 18. He has been the prime choice as a right-back in back-to-back UEFA Champions League finals. In the years 2018 and 2019, winning the cup the latter year and also have been a member of the Champions League Squad that Season.
Alexander-Arnold is widely recognized as one of the best-attacking full-backs due to his efficiency in occupying attacking spaces. As well as creating goalscoring opportunities, early crosses, set-piece, passing range, and defensive skills. But, somehow or the other the 23-year-old Englishman is not in his form. And if he doesn’t gain his composer and get back to his form. He might wait for another 4 years to play as a right-back for England.
Reece James – In or out for England?
Currently, the only player to give Trent Alexander-Arnold a face-off at the right-back position for England is Reece James. The 22-years-old Reece James is a right-back for the London club Chelsea and for England. He is a product of Chelsea’s youth academy. And like Trent Alexander-Arnold, he too made his senior debut for his youth academy senior side. The 22-year-old rising right-back is a strong and influential defender.
Moreover, in the post-match interview, Reece James said:
“I make mistakes as well. I gave away a penalty against Hungary so we are both still learning our trade. Liverpool have 95% of the ball and he defends less than I have to. People have a lot of stuff to say and don’t really know the game. Trent is a great player.
“I’ll try everything I can [to be first choice]. Only my performances will be able to prove what I can bring. In these games and building into next season I’ll hopefully be able to show that I’m ready to play every game.”
