Barcelona unable to register summer signings yet again?

About Football Express UK

According to reports, Spanish giants Barcelona are once again on the same path as they are unable to register their summer free transfer signings. As things stand the club can not register the free transfer signings of Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie.

Barcelona faced the same issues in the winter transfer window, As Ferran Torres could not be registered at the club due to the financial strains. Philippe Coutinho took a massive pay cut before joining Aston Villa on loan in order for the club to register the signing of Ferran Torres. The club’s sporting director Mateu Alemany talking about the situation back then said:

“We can’t register Ferran Torres yet, Philippe Coutinho loan to Aston Villa is not enough,” “But we now have operations underway in order to register Ferran – talks are ongoing.”

The club did however sign the likes of Dani Alves, Adama Traoré, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Arsenal in the winter. But it looks like they have come a full circle as they are unable to reuse signings yet again. This is partly due to the La Liga rules of one in four regulations’. This means that the club can only spend £1m for every £4m they save.

Does Barcelona need to sell some big-name players in order to sign the likes of Lewandowski?

Robert Lewandowski looks set for an exit from Allianz Arena in the summer. The forward has confirmed his intentions of leaving the club. It seems the Polish forward has his heart set on a move to Barcelona. Talking about his future in a recent press conference, Lewandowski said:

“My era at Bayern is over. I don’t see any possibility to continue playing for this club anymore. Bayern’s a serious club and I believe they won’t keep me, I don’t want to play there anymore. A transfer is the best solution. I hope they don’t stop me,”

While Barcelona may be tempted to make a move for the forward but the club will be looking to sell some star names in order to register his signing. On potential departure could be Frenkie de Jong. The Dutch midfielder has drawn the attention of Premier League giants Manchester United. Frenkie de Jong in a recent interview confirmed his intentions of staying with Barcelona. But Barcelona on the other hand are willing to do a deal for 80m and could force the midfielder into a move.
