Arteta wants Ruben Neves and is looking to hijack the deal

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is highly interested on signing Ruben Neves in the January transfer window. The Gunners are short of options in the middle of the park. This is due to Thomas Partey’s long-term injury.

The Ghanaian has played just four games in the Premier League this season. And Arsenal are on the lookout to replace him. Sources in Spain claim Arteta wants Neves and is highly appreciated by the Arsenal board.

Ruben Neves is a perfect fit for Arsenal and Arteta

The Portuguese midfielder was a star in England during his time at Wolves. He was a fantastic player for the Wanderers. And he was linked with a move to plenty of top clubs.

Arsenal’s interest in Neves, however, still remains. And the report claims that Mikel Arteta wants to bring him to the Emirates. This is ofcourse in the January transfer window.

It has been claimed that the midfielder is ‘Arteta’s new wish’. And the Arsenal boss is ‘insisting’ that the club’s board sanction a move to sign him from Al-Hilal this January window.

When Partey is fit and available for Arsenal, there aren’t many midfielders in the Premier League and in the world who are better than him.

However, since joining the Gunners in 2020, the Ghana international has missed 63 games. This is for club and country. His current injury is expected to keep him out until the end of the year at Arsenal and they are starting to get impatient with him.

Arsenal need a new midfielder in the winter window. However, this is irrespective of what happens with Partey. And Neves would be a fantastic signing.

The Portugal international is good on the ball. However, he fits Arteta’s system well and most importantly, he knows the Premier League and England. Moreover, he can hit the ground running if he joins Arsenal. And we think he would be a great replacement for Partey at Arsenal.
