Arsenal’refusing to rule out’ approving a surprise January departure for the attacking midfielder

Arsenal

Fabio Vieira has had difficulty staying consistent after leaving Porto in the summer of 2022 for a fee of £34 million. So far the Portuguese star’s career has stagnated this season after Kai Havertz joined the team.

In the first season, players like Granit Xhaka and Martin Odegaard, those who got the preference in midfield.

The season’s early optimism has already faded. As Vieira was substituted off for a shoddy tackle during Arsenal’s 3-1 victory against Burnley the previous weekend.

Although the 23-year-old may now leave the Emirates Stadium on a temporary basis in January.

Gunners ‘refusing to rule out’ Fabio Vieira

According to reports, Arsenal is “ruling out” letting out of outcast midfielder Fabio Vieira on loan in January.

In order to make room for high-profile additions, the Gunners may have to let go of players during the winter transfer window.

Further they need to sell. Not interested in any loan deal.

Marseille have interested

So far the attacking midfielder has links to Marseille, a French team. Still, a transfer might depend on a shift in the boardroom.

Mehdi Benatia, Marseille’s new sporting director, may have the last say over whether or not to sign Vieira, according to Fabrizio Romano.

However, it appears that Arsenal has not yet determined which players would depart during the winter transfer window.

He made an impression off the bench in a 2-2 draw with Fulham and a 3-1 triumph over Manchester United later that month. Although Vieira has only started two Premier League games this season.
