Arsenal were wrong about Willian, says Jurgen Klopp.

Arsenal

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes tha Arsenal were wrong about Willian when they let him go in 2021. Willian joined Arsenal from Chelsea in 2020 on a free transfer. Moreover, he had a wonderful time at the Stamford Bridge and that raises the expectations from him. He scored 9 goals and provided 7 assists for Chelsea in his last year for the blues. Because of this, people were expecting the same from him when he arrived at the Emirates Stadium.

However, his spell at Arsenal was nothing less than a disaster. The Brazilian managed to find the back of the net only once in 37 appearances for the Gunners. Moreover, he just had 5 assists throughout that season. Because of this very reason, his first season at Arsenal proved to be his very last season there. His contract was terminated and he was a free agent.

As per tbrfootball, Jurgen Klopp believes that Willian is one of the best players in the league’s history despite his below average spell at Arsenal. Klopp believes that the Brazilian was nothing less than a phenomenal player at his prime and is still a potential threat to any team’s defensive unit.

Why Arsenal were wrong about Willian?

After leaving Arsenal as a free agent, Willian joined the Brazilian club Corinthians. He went there in order to focus on his playing ability and develop himself. But his bad form continued. He couldn’t even get a goal during his 2 years at Brazil. People thought his career was over.

However, Willian had other plans. The 35 year old joined Fulham on a free transfer again. But this time he’s someone different. He’s already scored 3 goals for his club so far. Moreover, his technique hasn’t faded away at all. He’s still a danger for the opposite team.
