Arsenal want one more player in the squad and considers Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans as a viable option before the window concludes.
The Gunners want to make a swoop for the Foxes midfielder in the coming days in order to bolster the squad. Mikel Arteta and his side have kicked off their Premier League campaign in a great fashion winning all the matches.
However, the gaffer does not seem fully satisfied and wants to further reinforce the side for the season this summer. Youri Tielemans has been linked with a move to the Emirates this summer as a potential midfield option.
Arsenal want to bid for Youri Tielemans
Arsenal rate the Foxes midfielder in the region of around £23m if a move is to be facilitated this summer. However, the Brendan Rodgers managed side value him north of £40m to make his exit possible in the window.
It is understood that Tielemans wants to make a move away from the King Power Stadium this summer. Moreover, the midfielder was omitted from the squad in the match against Southampton last weekend in their PL fixture.
Speaking to GiveMeSport, transfer insider Dean Jones spoke on the player’s potential move this summer in the transfer window. He said-
“Brendan Rodgers knows that Tielemans is still seeking a move to a bigger club, so he was trying to protect his team by leaving him out.
“It didn’t really work out, but I am told he could still leave this week if the offer from Arsenal finally lands.”
Arsenal and the player apparently have an agreement in place to join the club later this week. However, nothing concrete as such as been confirmed regarding a possible move to the North London side.
It remains to be seen if Tieleman dons the Gunners outfit this summer or does he stay at Leicester.
