League leaders Arsenal remain active in the transfer market. They seek to plug key holes in their squad and are reportedly looking for a wide forward as well as a midfielder. Arsenal Technical director Edu has been urged to recruit a winger to provide Saka competition and rest in their coming matches.

Arsenal’s current Right-winger, Bukayo Saka has played in all four of their matches so far. He is only 20, however, he has established himself as a prominent first-team star. He has only registered a single assist so far, however, he has played a crucial role in the Arsenal attack. However, he currently lacks a proper backup to take his place.

Arsenal technical director Edu and manager Mikel Arteta are aware of the potential dangers of burnout on the young star. While the likes of Marquinhos, Fabio Viera, Emile Smith-Rowe, and Gabriel Jesus have the capability of playing on the right wing, the Gunners lack a dedicated Right-winger to replace Saka in case of rest or injury.

Who are the potential targets Arsenal may sign?

Wolves’ Pedro Neto has been a long-time target of Arsenal. However, they are unlikely to sign the Portuguese star, due to his high price tag and the importance he holds to Bruno Lage’s project.

Arsenal reportedly has links with Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio. The 26-year-old has fallen behind Vinicius Jr., Rodrygo and Eden Hazard on Madrid’s pecking order and may depart Spain seeking proper game time. He brings experience and a winning mentality.

Crystal Palace’s Wilfred Zaha has had repeated links with the North London side over the past few years. However, he is a bit older than the typical sort of players Arteta’s side seems to sign these days.

One player which does fit the bill would be Mykhaylo Mudryk. The Ukrainian has reportedly recently been spoken to by Arsenal representatives. He is a young player, who may choose to link up with countryman Oleksandr Zinchenko.
