Arsenal looking to plot a move for Guehi late into the window

Arsenal

Arsenal are reportedly considering a move for Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi. This is as they look to strengthen their back line. This is ofcourse before the transfer window closes.

Mikel Arteta has already brought in Jurrien Timber this summer. But the former Ajax man is facing seven months on the sidelines. This is due to a serious knee injury which he picked up during the game vs Nottingham Forest.

Arsenal could therefore make a late attempt to lure Guehi away from Crystal Palace. They aren’t the only club looking to secure his signature.

Guehi could be the perfect fit for Arsenal

According to the Daily Mailthe centre-back is of ‘increasing interest’ to Arsenal. Arsenal could make a move for him in the next few days.

Guehi signed for Crystal Palace from Chelsea in 2021 for a fee of £18 million. He has since established himself as one of the Palace’s most important players.

The defender made 37 Premier League appearances last season. This is by helping his team to eight clean sheets and scoring one goal. His impressive form saw him earn a call-up to the England squad last year. So there is no doubting his quality.

Guehi has three years remaining on his current contract. So Palace are under no immediate pressure to sell him. It would therefore require a huge bid from Arsenal to lure him away from Selhurst Park. This is especially so close to the end of the transfer window.

With that in mind, it will be interesting to see if Arsenal make an opening bid. That is ofcourse for the defender in the next few days.

Guehi could be perfect for Arsenal. He is well all-rounded Centre-back. He is very good on the ball and solid while commanding his backline. He would become an instant fan favourite at Arsenal if he decides to join.
